Reason
My inspiration to begin 70 sites came when faced with coming up with 70 plus thousand dollars in two years to help my wife afford the education of a lifetime. While I was going through school and was in one of my many business classes the teacher was encouraging us to think outside of the box and come up with creative business ideas.
At that time he told us about a high school senior who had a goal of funding his dreaming of making it to university. Of course that came with a cost. His idea was to build a website that was one million pixels and sell each pixel for a dollar. He started selling pixels in August of 2005 and by May of the following year he reached his goal.
My original idea was to sell 70 basic websites for $1000 each and get my wife through school without a heap of debt upon graduating. This would allow her to not be driven by money in choosing where she starts her career.
After a few simple websites I moved from one referral to the next. Soon thereafter the request grew to include blogs, forums, social media, and even e-commerce. The real nice aspect to Joomla Content Management System(CMS) is it very expandable. This means you can start small and grow to be the next big thing, without having to start from scratch at each phase.
This phased approach allows you to budget and grow as the need arises. This great amount of flexibility keeps your website from becoming outdated in two years. After all your company or causes ability to adapt is what will keep you thriving tomorrow and into the future.
Often the difference between a good idea and a great one is implementation. With a business background I have taken my talents and created an organized process to help deliver a great customer experience time and time again.
